Our own brainboost EEG cap for neurofeedback training - developed by therapists, for therapists!

This cap provides a secure fit without a chin strap. No more scratching, tightness or pinched ears. It is ideal for neurofeedback training at frontal, central, parietal and temporal positions.

Training positions: F - C - P - T

The reference electrode can be comfortably placed on the mastoid. Central and side supports allow the tear-resistant round cords to be finely adjusted.

Adjustment options

For optimal comfort, the three cords across the top of the head can be adjusted in length. Pull them through the rear holder to make them shorter and tighter or longer and looser.

The outer cord is not adjustable, ensuring a secure fit. This is why the cap is available in sizes XS, S, M, L and XL. Different colours are available, and the size is marked on the rear section.

Comfort

Both the front support at the forehead and the rear section, including the adjustment area, have comfortable padding.

Size recommendations

To get started, we recommend a size M cap or a complete set. Size M fits many children aged 10 and above, as well as a large proportion of adults.

History and development

We developed this cap as part of a bachelor's thesis in medical technology. The aim was to create an EEG cap that offers a high level of comfort during neurofeedback training and reduces artefacts caused by mouth and jaw movements. Initial evaluations showed that we had achieved this.

Before development, surveys of our patients revealed that chin straps fastened around the neck often felt tight, scratchy or irritating.

Starting with a blank sheet of paper, we used 3D printing to produce and refine successive prototypes. At our practice in Munich (www.praxis-heiler.de), we could test each version immediately and incorporate patient feedback directly. This helped us improve the shape, adjustment options and tear resistance of the cords.

We still manufacture all caps ourselves. Our own 3D printers allow us to produce caps in different sizes and your preferred colour.
